Meet Valerie
Valerie Johnston is a Craniosacral Therapist in the Duluth, MN area.
She attended Northwood Technical College 2017-2019 and studied Dynamic Structure Balancing with Ann Turnquist, LMT. She supplemented her training with Dr. Carol Phillips' 100 hour Dynamic Body Balancing series in 2019. She reviewed Dynamic Body Balancing workshops in 2022 with Ann Turnquist as well as attended Dr. Erika's "Connecting the Dots of TOTs" seminar in 2022. Most recently, she trained with Sarah Hornsby in Oral Myofunctional Therapy in 2023. Valerie loves working with fascia and the cranial sacral system, as so many changes take place in patients' lives! She finds working with babies very fascinating, so she's excited to join the Accelerate team one day a week to support families and their children, as well as learn more from Dr. Erika's mentorship.
Valerie has been married to her husband, Paul, for 32 years and they have 12 children. She loves Lake Superior and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Hiking, swimming, cross country skiing, and knitting are some of her favorite past times.
Work with Me
Craniosacral therapy is for people of all ages! Restoring the craniosacral rhythm and unwinding the body to discover its true balance affects overall health in so many ways. Valerie's CST work can be especially helpful for pre- and post-frenectomy care or during other dental intervention like palate expansion, braces, myobraces, ALF appliances, etc. Craniosacral therapy for your baby after birth is also very helpful to encourage adjustment to the outside world and support breastfeeding.
During a session, you can expect to remain fully clothed. Wearing attire you can move freely in is helpful. Often times when the body is unwinding, emotions release as well as physical restrictions. All expressions of emotion are welcome and supported!
